A tuxedo doesn't just offer the wearer a sharp outfit option; it bestows a kind of confidence. When wearing one, it's hard not to saunter into a room with the masculine-meets-feminine swagger of a Marlene Dietrich or a Katherine Hepburn. A soft, ultra-now take may not meet the same level of imposing tailoring and structure; but the essence of the tuxedo seeps through. The confidence is softer, subdued, but it's none the less there. This shoot starring Jacquelyn Jablonski features a black and white colour palette and mood that's very in line with the current take on tuxedo dressing: the suiting is relaxed, the blouses are sheer, and it's all punctuated by feminine details like bows and lace.
